OUR LADY OF LOURDES CLASS of 1963 REUNION

Forty-One and Counting …

The Our Lady of Lourdes Class of 1963 celebrated its 41st Reunion at The Jazz Factory in downtown Louisville on Sunday, September 19, 2004. Twenty-two alums showed up for the event.

James Aton won the prize for longest distance traveled: he came from Cedar City, Utah. Barbara Sievert Atkinson of Louisville won best memorabilia: a booklet from the 5th-grade “Becoming a Woman” movie for girls only. Several others won door prizes of OLOL T-shirts and books written by Aton and reunion committee member Dianne Aprile.

The Class of ’63 had a great time recalling special memories, including: the church fire; Great Books; the twist; slumber parties; movies at The Vogue and Sister Elissa’s English class. Mementos on display included two First Communion dresses (Julia Bickett Sanford and Dianne Aprile); Courier-Journal clippings of Civics Club activities and Toy Bowls; class composite photos; report cards, and 8th grade diplomas. The Reunion Committee consisted of Aprile, Bill Bates, Mike Heitz, Kathy Hart Sachs and Paul Zurkuhlen.

The group had such a great time that it plans to reunite again in 2008 for our 45th anniversary.
